The Ricoh Theta Z1 51GB is the new flagship model from Ricoh, achieving the highest image quality of the Theta series. The Theta Z1 combines ease of use with astonishingly high performance. Record natural 360° images at approximately 23 MP (6720 x 3360, 7K). The Theta Z1 features superior noise reduction, even when shooting at night or indoors in low light, thanks to the built-in 1.0 inch backlit CMOS image sensor.
Although the camera features a large image sensor, the internal construction of the camera has been optimised to produce unprecedented high performance and quality at this size. Ricoh has adopted a newly developed lens unit that reduces ghosting, flare and purple fringing. The aperture mechanism has been revamped with the selection of F2.1, F3.5 and F5.6. By closing the aperture, a higher resolution is attained. Supporting different shooting scenarios using a variety of shooting modes, the Z1 produces incredibly realistic spherical video in 4K (3840 x 1920, 29.97fps) quality. For the first time it is possible to save in RAW (DNG) format. At the same time, it also saves in JPEG. The Theta Z1 also supports 360° livestreaming in 4K and transmits lifelike, superb quality images to the world.
The Ricoh Theta Z1 features a 4-channel microphone to independently record sound from four different directions when recording video. The camera also records 4K video with 360° spatial audio for a more realistic VR world. Plus, the magnesium alloy housing combines a high-quality feel with robustness. The Z1 also has a display panel on which you can check information, such as the battery level, the number of recordable photos and the recording mode.
